Tips for Organizing your Garage
Many times, the garage is the first thing people see when they enter your home; it can be their first impression of your home. Wouldn't it be so nice for people entering your home to see an organized garage when they first walk in? The garage can become a dumping ground for items you don't want in your house, but also need to keep. Therefore, an organized garage is very helpful in keeping those items in a spot where you can get to them when you need them, but they aren't taking up valuable space in your home and they aren't all just thrown in the garage.
Tips for organizing your garage:
Your goal is to get as much off the floor as possible.
Shelving units, pegboards and FastTrack systems are all great for this purpose!
Consider investing in some storage solutions, such as shelving, hooks and storage totes.
As you begin going through your garage items, sort items into categories.

Purge as you go and get rid of broken items, trash and other items you no longer need/want.
As you organize the items you are keeping, contain items using totes or bins. Make sure to use the lid to keep your items from getting dirty.
Use open bins or pegboards for items you need to be able to access easily and frequently.
When placing items back, keep items in like categories. So the categories you sorted in the beginning, try to keep those items in or close to the same location so you can find what you are looking for quickly and easily.
Label the bins in order to help maintain your new system!
